About this policy

The owner of Hebrew from Scratch and controller of received support correspondence is Simon Rasin, Czechia. Contact for support and privacy questions: murchalasimon2000@gmail.com. This policy describes the app and voluntary correspondence with its developer. Learning does not require an app account; there is no server database of your learning profile.

What stays on your device

The app stores your chosen name or nickname, language, goals, settings, learned letters and words, favourites, results and dates of study sessions, review history and unfinished exercises. These data support lesson continuation, review scheduling and activity displays. You can edit your name in the profile. A local profile identifier separates files; it is not an online account.

The app has no automatic upload of these data to the developer, advertising analytics or cross-app tracking. Earlier local states may be retained for recovery after an error or update. Hashing a filename is not encryption.

Writing, audio and permissions

Drawing in an exercise is processed in the current screen’s memory; the app does not save or send it as a handwriting sample. Pronunciation uses bundled audio. Your voice is not recorded and speech recognition is not used. Volume is checked locally only to display a hint.

The app does not request camera, microphone, contacts or location access. Optional reminders use the iOS notification permission. A system voice is available as a fallback for possible future text without a bundled recording; management of system voices belongs to iOS.

Purchases and Apple services

Apple handles purchases, payments, subscriptions, restoration and refunds under its terms. Through StoreKit, the app receives product and verified transaction information to determine Pro access: purchase type, identifiers, expiry and possible revocation. The app does not receive your payment card details or Apple Account password.

Local Pro verification constraints, including dates and transaction identifiers, are stored in Keychain without enabling Keychain synchronisation for these records. Apple may process its own store, download, purchase and diagnostic information under your settings and its policies. This is not an advertising SDK provided by us. Purchases, restoration and App Store actions require access to Apple services.

The app may obtain Apple-signed app acquisition information to verify its distribution variant. This distinguishes the test variant from the public app. This information is not added to learning-progress backups or sent to the developer.

Widgets and reminders

The widget receives a small local snapshot: daily activity, a goal, a streak, language, calendar information and the next letter or topic. It does not receive your name, full study history, favourites list or purchase proofs. The snapshot is shared only between the app and its widget through a system-protected shared container.

People who can see your device’s screen may see this information. You can disable activity publication in the app’s widget settings and remove the widget from the screen. Reminders are scheduled locally without a push server and can be disabled in the app or iOS notification settings.

Backups and transfer

There is no app-operated automatic sync between iPhone and iPad. Depending on your choices, iOS may include app data in a system backup, including iCloud Backup. This depends on your Apple settings and does not give the developer access to that backup.

Manual progress export creates a regular JSON file containing your name, settings and learning history. The app does not password-encrypt that file. You choose where to save it and who receives it; choosing cloud storage or sharing lets the selected service process the file. Treat a backup as a private file. Pro rights and drawings are not included in manual progress export.

If you contact support

Tapping the support address opens a mail app. Our app does not send a message itself or attach progress, drawings, diagnostics or device information. You choose the text, attachments and whether to send.

If you send an email, the developer receives your sender address, display name, message content, email metadata and attachments you choose. These are used to respond, resolve your request, fix errors and prevent abuse, not to send advertising campaigns. The support mailbox is hosted by Gmail; email providers, including Google and the sender’s provider, process correspondence under their policies. Processing may take place outside your country. Do not send passwords, payment details or a full progress backup unnecessarily.

Google’s stated international safeguards and transfer terms are available below; their applicability depends on the service and its terms. Contact the developer at the address above for information about handling of support correspondence.

Retention, deletion and requests

Learning data remain local while the app needs them and you keep its data. To remove ordinary app data from a device, use Delete App rather than Offload App. Exported files, system backups, correspondence, Apple purchases and separate Keychain records must be considered separately: deleting the app does not guarantee their deletion.

Support correspondence is kept for as long as necessary to handle the request, related fixes, disputes and applicable obligations. You may contact murchalasimon2000@gmail.com to request information about correspondence, correction or deletion of data held by the developer. If specific information must be retained by law or for a dispute, we will explain why. We cannot remotely read or erase learning progress on your device. Mandatory rights under applicable law remain unaffected.

GDPR legal bases

Where the GDPR applies, necessary requested app functions and contractual support rely on Article6(1)(b). Other support replies, error investigation and abuse prevention rely on Article6(1)(f): the legitimate interest in maintaining a usable, secure app and answering voluntary requests, balanced against your rights. A legal retention duty relies on Article6(1)(c). Email is optional; without contact details we cannot reply.

Rights and complaints

Where the GDPR applies, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction, object to processing and, when its conditions apply, portability. If processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it for the future. Send requests to murchalasimon2000@gmail.com; statutory deadlines apply. These rights have conditions and exceptions.

You may complain to the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ) or another competent supervisory authority. Contacting us first is not a mandatory condition for a complaint.

Children and policy changes

The app does not ask for a date of birth and does not use advertising or tracking. Avoid sending a child’s personal information to support unnecessarily; a parent or legal guardian may contact us about such correspondence. Purchases are subject to Apple’s settings and parental controls.

The document shows its revision date. Changes to features and data handling require a review of this policy. The current policy is available in the app offline; external links open only when you choose them.
